FIXING THE DRIP

At Aleto, we know that even the smallest leak can lead to big problems—and sometimes, a welcome opportunity for transformation. That was exactly the case for one of our recent clients who reached out with a persistent shower leak that had started causing water damage to their shower floor and adjacent wall.

Upon inspection, our team discovered that the original shower pan had failed, leading to water seeping beneath the tile and compromising the subfloor and surrounding walls. The client’s bathroom was relatively updated, featuring a clean, modern aesthetic with neutral tones—but the outdated shower, with its mismatched tile and aging hardware, stuck out like a sore thumb.

Rather than just patch the leak, the homeowners decided to turn a problem into an upgrade—and we were excited to help make that happen.

Our goal was clear: rebuild the shower from the ground up and make it feel like it had always belonged in the space. We started by carefully removing the damaged materials and addressing the moisture issues beneath the surface. Once the area was dry and prepped, we installed a new waterproofing system to ensure long-term durability and peace of mind.

Working closely with the homeowner, we selected a sleek, subway tile that echoed the and colors in the rest of the bathroom. The result was a unified, airy look that expanded the feel of the space. 

No renovation is complete without the right fixtures. We installed a gold rainhead shower and a matching handheld wand. A recessed shampoo niche and foot niche were added for convenient storage and functionality, lined with accent tile that tied in beautifully with the vanity and existing bathroom floor. 

The finished product is a seamless blend of function and style. Not only is the leak gone, but the entire shower area now feels like a natural extension of the bathroom’s original design—only better.
